The season started a few days ago and the air already smells of winter, Christmas and many things to do. . .

If you’re wondering what to do in December in Trentino besides skiing, you’re in the right place!

Nativity scenes and markets in Ossana

It is the most convenient alternative starting from the Hotel Pezzotti. 2 km away you will find 100 handmade nativity scenes, connected by a red wire, that will lead you to the discovery of Ossana, a small village in the Val di Sole.

At the end of the tour to the cribs, you will find the Castello San Michele with its Christmas markets inside. Visiting the Christmas cribs and markets in Ossana is definitely worth doing, staying in Pellizzano, for the comfort but above all for their suggestive beauty!

Christmas Markets in Trento

Surely they are not so immediate to reach, but a holiday in Trentino without seeing the Christmas Markets in Trento is not complete.

I advise you to reach Mezzana by car or public transport and from there take the train that will take you right to Trento.

Get off the train and head towards Piazza Dante, where you’ll find the markets.

You will be able to see the artisan products of Trentino and maybe even find ideas for your Christmas gifts. Do not leave without having tasted Vin Brulè, a typical Christmas drink of Trentino Alto Adige!

Trekking and Walking

Given the beautiful days that this month of December is giving us, I suggest you take some time to discover the Val di Sole and its mountains, trekking or simply walking.

There are so many routes you can take.

One of them all? Well, certainly an excursion to Lago dei Caprioli starting directly from the Hotel Pezzotti.

The lake is partly frozen and is really charming and fascinating!

Of course, a holiday in Trentino in winter is definitely made of skiing but there are also many other things to do.

That’s why I wanted to give you some advice on what to do in December in Trentino!
